The double Europa League winner is eager to feature on native soil with his club when they take on Colombian side Atletico Nacional in a friendly
The 26-year-old has never featured at club level in his country of birth, instead first being a part of River Plate's youth program in Argentina before moving to Europe in 2009 to join Porto.
Now back in Colombia's second largest city of Medellin as part of Los Rojiblancos preseason preparations, Falcao is relishing the prospect of putting on a spectacle in front of his countrymen.
"I am very happy and excited to be back in my homeland," the forward told reporters. "I know it will be something unique to play in Medellin.
"It will also be a great responsibility, a chance to return all the support I was given in joys and triumphs. We will do our best to put on a show for the fans of Nacional."
Falcao's former Porto team-mate, Cristian Rodriguez, is expected to make his Atletico Madrid debut during the upcoming match.
