Rumors became a reality today as Jaguares Chiapas forward Jackson Martinez joined Portugese top division side Porto.
The exciting forward departs the Mexican top division for a transfer fee believed to be around $11 million. Martinez signed a four-year deal with the club with a termination clause of 40 million euros. Martinez will fly to Porto to have his medical, finalizing the deal.
The Colombian international has 14 caps and five goals and while playing for Jaguars in 64 matches, he scored 33 goals.
There is a growing presence of Colombians at Porto as Martínez will play alongside James Rodríguez. The club has been a gateway to Europe for other Colombians (five in total) as Falcao García, Fredy Guarín and Wason Rentería also played there.
