Jordi Alba has not been sold to Barcelona, insists Vazquez

The club official said that no offers has been lodged for the left-sided player and added that the 23-year-old has the chance to sign a new deal with Los Che
Valencia technical secretary Braulio Vazquez has stressed that Jordi Alba is not on the verge of completing a move to Barcelona.

The Spain international has been strongly linked with a return to the Catalan club, where he spent part of his youth career, after establishing himself as one of the most sought-after players in his country.

Former Valencia coach Unai Emery claimed earlier in the week that Los Che had already sold Alba, but Vazquez has now quashed those remarks.

"Jordi Alba has not been sold to Barcelona," he is quoted by EFE as saying. "No concrete offer for the player has arrived.

"His agents are studying all the offers that may have arrived, including the one made by Valencia to extend and improve his contract."

Alba, who broke into Valencia's first team in 2008, has one year left on his contract with the club.
