Espanyol is reportedly on the verge of Coutinho on loan from Inter for the remainder of the season.
According to Marca, talks between the two clubs are ongoing but there are only some minor details to be ironed out and the six-month deal is expected to be confirmed on Monday.
Coutinho has struggled for both form and fitness over the past year and has made only five appearances in Serie A this season.
The 19-year-old attacking midfielder had previously been linked with another La Liga outfit, Malaga, as well as Chievo.
Coutinho was originally signed by Inter from Vasco da Gama for 3.8 million euros in 2008, but he remained on loan to the Brazilian club for a further two seasons before eventually making the move to San Siro.
