Betis striker Roque Santa Cruz has admitted that he is aware of interest from Cruzeiro, but stated that the challenge of consolidating the club's position in La Liga was more important than moving on to pastures new.
The Paraguayan striker, on loan in Seville from Manchester City until June 2012, has been strongly linked with a move to Belo Horizonte. The Serie A outfit is reportedly considering an exchange with City, sending young striker Leo Bonatini to Manchester in order to complete the signing of Santa Cruz.
Speaking on Thursday morning, however, the former Blackburn star affirmed that he had a job to do with Betis and vowed to improve after a poor start to the season.
"I have made a commitment to Betis. I have a challenge here and everything else is irrelevant," the forward explained in declarations published by Globoesporte. "I have heard something about the interest from Cruzeiro, but I am happy and I want to continue in Betis. That is the only thing on my mind."
Santa Cruz has found the net just three times in the 2011-12 campaign.
