Ajax defender Gregory van der Wiel has told Goal.com that he's open to a move to Valencia at the end of the 2011-12 season.

The player's agent Hakim Slimani recently revealed that los Che and Ajax are in talks regarding a transfer, and the Amsterdam side's sporting director Danny Blind confirmed on Wednesday that the club is ready to cash in on Van der Wiel if the price is right.

Now, the player himself has hinted at a switch to the Mestalla, although he ruled out a transfer during the January trade period.

"Valencia are a great club and an interesting option," Van der Wiel said after Wednesday night's Champions League loss to Real Madrid. "I know that they are keen to sign me in the summer transfer window. I don't have any plans to leave this winter, but you never know what will happen. Either way, I want to end my Ajax career in a good way."

The 23-year-old defender has a contract at the Amsterdam ArenA until the summer of 2013 and a transfer fee in the region of 10 million euros could be needed to lure him away from Ajax.
