Former Real Madrid midfielder Guti has confirmed that his career in European football has reached its conclusion and is now eyeing up an adventure in Asia.

The 35-year-old was reportedly closing in on a return to La Liga after leaving Besiktas earlier in November, but revealed via his Twitter account of his aspirations to play for an Asian club.

"I want to clarify that I am retiring from Spain and Europe," he tweeted. "If I continue playing, it will be in Asia, which is what I dream of. I want to go to Asia and learn new cultures."

Guti is best known for his glittering 15-year spell at Real Madrid, where he notched up over 400 appearances for the Blancos and lifted numerous trophies.
