Report: Blackburn considering move to sign Barcelona's Jonathan dos Santos
The Rovers are reportedly interested in the young Mexico international midfielder, who has so far been unable to maintain a place in the Blaugrana first team.
Blackburn Rovers are considering a move to sign Mexican international Jonathan dos Santos from Barcelona, according to the Daily Mail.
The 21-year-old is the son of former Brazilian footballer Zizinho and brother of Tottenham’s Giovani dos Santos, and has appeared regularly for the Barcelona B side.
It is said that Rovers scouts have been watching Dos Santos at recent B games. He made his debut for Barcelona in 2009, but has featured infrequently for Guardiola’s side and may decide to leave for more first team opportunities.
The midfielder was controversially sent home with seven others from Mexico’s squad in the Copa America earlier this year after an alleged prostitution scandal, for which he has since apologized.
Dos Santos plays in central or defensive midfield, and would add to the selection of young players manager Steve Kean has signed for Blackburn over the summer transfer window, which has included the Mexican's former team-mate Ruben Rochina from Barcelona B.
