Belgium international could be moving to the Gunners as Arsene Wenger races to find midfielders after losing Spain ace, according to a report.
Arsenal could be ready to make a last-minute assault on Lille midfielder Eden Hazard as a likely replacement for Barcelona's Cesc Fabregas. With Fabregas gone and Samir Nasri expected to complete his switch to Manchester City next week, rtbf.be reports Hazard has become a 20 million euros target as Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger looks at options to plug the holes in midfield.
The 20-year-old, who was recently banned by Belgium for misconduct, was previously linked with Inter and Paris Saint-Germain.
But despite a supposed interest from Arsenal, French champion Lille has always played hardball and it insists Hazard will not be sold for anything less than 40 million euros - way off the London club's valuation.
It is said the Gunners have already opened talks over a move, but they may need to increase any subsequent offers to land the talented youngster.
