Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has expanded his interest in Juventus striker Amauri after asking how much he would cost.

Il Corriere dello Sport
reports the coach called Bianconeri chiefs to make the first enquiries into the Brazilian who has looked sharp during pre-season before scoring two goals in Thursday's 2-0 win over Shamrock Rovers in the Europa League.

Despite an interest from Madrid, Juve have already claimed they are counting heavily on Amauri for next season, and Giuseppe Marotta's closure on Edin Dzeko adds strength to the Brazilian staying.

But a mega offer from Real Madrid, equivalent to the €22 million Juventus paid for the hitman in 2008, could warm up relations between the clubs.

For now though Amauri seems intent on fighting for his place: "I am happy to have scored and I am working to reach my best form and score plenty," he told Tuttosport.

"It's important to stay fit, and take advantage from the assists I receive in matches."
