Galatasaray revealed on Wednesday that they have concluded a deal with Tottenham Hotspur to bring Mexican international forward Giovani Dos Santos to Turkey on loan.

The player is expected in Istanbul on Thursday evening to finalise the deal, which lasts until the end of the season.

"We welcome Giovani Dos Santos Ramirez, and wish him every success in the yellow and red jersey," a statement on Galatasaray's official website reads.

Dos Santos has never really settled at Spurs after joining them in the summer of 2008 for £4.7 million.

He spent some of last season on loan at Championship club Ipswich Town, and is looking forward to getting some more time in on the pitch in Turkey.

"I'm very happy because it's an opportunity for me and because I'm joining a coach I know," the 20-year-old told the Turkish media.

"I need to play, I need minutes to recover rhythm and form."
