Milan have rejected an offer from Chelsea for Andrea Pirlo, according to the British tabloids.

The Daily Mail claimed on Tuesday that the London club had tabled a bid of €10 million (£8.6m) plus Claudio Pizarro, and Michael Mancienne on loan, for the Italian international.

However, The Sun now reports that an offer of nearer €14.5m (£12.5m) and just Pizarro has been turned down, with a 'Milan insider' quoted as saying that Pirlo is "worth £35m".

The former Inter midfielder has been heavily linked to Chelsea ever since Carlo Ancelotti - the man in charge when the player arrived at the Rossoneri - filled the hot-seat at Stamford Bridge.

But the new coach at San Siro, Leonardo, has stressed that Pirlo is part of his plans for the 2009-10 campaign - a line that flies in the face of club president Silvio Berlusconi's new 'under-30s' policy.
