Donovan Move To Livorno Will Likely Have To Wait

Livorno’s president has said a move for Landon Donovan will likely have to wait until next year.

Livorno’s move for Landon Donovan will have to wait according to club president Aldo Spinelli.

The newly promoted club has been linked with the U.S. star over the last few days, but now the deal seems to be on hold until next season, with Aldo saying that certain sponsors don’t want Donovan to leave America just yet.

"I think at this point it will happen only for next season. It seems the sponsors Nike and Gatorade do not want the player to leave America right now." Spinelli told Tuttomercatoweb.com.

Aldo did not mention anything on the status of the club's bid for U.S. midfielder Ricardo Clark who was also rumored to be attracting interests from the new Serie A side.
