Transfer Rumours And Round-Up: July 20-21

The mega-swap deal involving Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Samuel Eto'o has not yet materialised, but there's plenty more going on besides...

Zlatan Ibrahimovic - Inter (Grazia Neri)
Zlatan Ibrahimovic insists that he is ready to play the waiting game in regard to his potential move to Barcelona; The big Swede admits that negotiations are under way between Barca and his club, Inter, but any move is contingent on Samuel Eto'o's decision to go the other way. The Italian champions are ready to make the Cameroonian one of the highest paid players in Serie A, but he has yet to make up his mind.

Barcelona, as well as Chelsea, will have to widen their net in a search for a new central defender with the news that Porto rate Bruno Alves as untransferrable. The English team's captain, John Terry, is set to make an announcement on his future imminently, with rumours of a Manchester City transfer persisting.

The Blues have also been linked with a move for Roma's Mirko Vucinic. A €25m deal could spark a striker merry-go-round; La Magica are ready to replace the Montenegrin with Adriano, from Flamengo, while David Trezeguet and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar have also been touted for Rome arrivals.

The Dutchman, cast out at Real Madrid, is a good bet to join Stuttgart but Arsenal could yet usurp the Germans with an 11th hour bid. Arsene Wenger's team are also eyeing Bordeaux's Marouane Chamakh, who was scheduled to sit down with his employers to trash out an arrangement earlier today.

Luis Fabiano's agent has criticised AC Milan for undervaluing his client; the Rossoneri have yet to bid more than a relatively paltry €14m for the Sevilla sensation.

Fabiano's international colleague, Andre Santos has despatched his agent to Italy in order to tie up a deal with an as yet unnamed Serie A outfit.

Another Brazilian defender set to move to Serie A is Luisao. The Benfica stopper has again been mooted as a possible target for Fiorentina. The Gigliati have some cash lying around following the sale of Felipe Melo to Juventus.

Finally, at Liverpool, the focus is again on departures. Xabi Alonso insists that he will not agitate for a move away from Anfield to Real Madrid while Andrea Dossena has attracted the attentions of Napoli.
