Transfer Rumours And Round-Up: July 9-10

Goal.com summarises the biggest stories in the transfer market over the past 24 hours.

David Villa, Spain (MARCA)
Goal.com can exclusively reveal that Barcelona have formally agreed a deal with Valencia for David Villa. A bid in the region of €40 million has been accepted, according to our sources, and the deal could accelerate the departure of Samuel Eto'o, tipped to join Manchester City.

Villa could be joined at Camp Nou by Andre Santos; the Corinthians defender is reported to be Barca's number one defensive target. The Blaugrana were delivered a transfer snub today however as Dmytro Chygrynsky of Shakhtar Donetsk insists that he is happy where he is.

Over at the Bernabeu, Karim Benzema is set to be unveiled as a Real Madrid player later this evening and he has been welcomed to the fold by Cristiano Ronaldo.

Across town and Ever Banega, of Atletico, has been touted as an Arsenal target, along with St Etienne's Blaise Matuidi. Further south, in Seville, there is a story with more substance.

Sevilla's Luis Fabiano is the subject of a bid from AC Milan and the player's agent has revealed that talks are ongoing between the Spanish side and their Italian counterparts.

Sevilla welcomed a new arrival yesterday in the shape of Didier Zokora and the Ivorian's departure from Tottenham Hotspur could prompt bids for Madrid-based duo, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Maxi Rodriguez. The former, a Real Madrid outcast, is also weighing up an offer from Stuttgart.

The Bundesliga could be further fortified next season by the continued presence of Franck Ribery. Following Real Madrid's revelation that they do not intend to sign the Frenchman comes the news from Chelsea that they too will not be meeting Bayern Munich's asking price.

In Italy, Juventus have disclosed that Felipe Melo will be their last acquisition of the summer. They have turned their attentions to renewals, with Alessandro Del Piero set to be offered a contract extension. David Trezeguet has also now been tipped to see out his contract with the Turin giants.

Pavel Nedved, who left the club this summer and was expected to retire, is the subject of an amazing story. Reportedly, Inter are to offer the former Czech Republic international a two-year deal.

The Beneamata's star forward, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, is alleged to be on Manchester United's radar while Twente's Marko Arnautovic insists that he will join the Serie A champions this summer, regardless of the fact that negotiations between the clubs broke down.

Another man leaving the Eredivisie looks to be Marcus Berg, of Groningen. Fulham are keen as are Hamburg. In fact, the Germans are the favorites the clinch the Swede's signature.

Roma's Jeremy Menez is wanted by Marseille while La Magica's Mirko Vucinic is said to be on the hitlist of a number of Premier League sides; Liverpool, Manchester United and Spurs are all keeping tabs.

Lazio, meanwhile, are set to seal a permanent deal for Matuzalem with Real Zaragoza; the agent of Goran Pandev has invited Fiorentina to make a bid for his client's services.
