Report: Everton Offer Rennes Highest Bid For Stephane M'Bia
At the moment, the Toffees are in pole position to sign the midfielder, but Rennes are still holding out for higher offers.
Everton appear to be leading the race for Stephane M'Bia, after submitting a bid yesterday.
The Cameroonian international is certain to leave Stade Rennais this summer, and, according to Foot Mercato, Everton have tabled a €12 million bid, the highest yet received for the player.
Marseille had also bid for the player, but they only offered €9m.
This was backed up by Rennes general manager Pierre Dreossi, who said, "Marseille's offer is lower than the English one.
"There is no hurry. No deadline has been set for the transfer.
"We will sell to whoever offers the best price."
Clearly, Everton are currently favourites for M'Bia's signature, but with the likes of Manchester City also interested, it is by no means a guarantee.
