Fernando Gomez: Valencia Not Satisfied With Offers For David Villa

Los Che’s sporting director has revealed that none of the offers so far for ‘El Guaje’ have met the club’s expectations.

Valencia hitman David Villa has been a prominent figure in the transfer headlines over the past week as some of Europe’s top clubs jostle for his signature.

He looked to be on the verge of completing a move to Real Madrid but negotiations between the clubs broke down late last week, and that has allowed Barcelona and Manchester United to swoop in to prepare massive offers of their own.

But Los Che sporting director Fernando Gomez has stepped in to clarify any confusion about the Villa saga.

“There are two things that need to be cleared up. First, Valencia have never reached any agreement with anybody for Villa and second, as of right now, there have been no offers that have satisfied us,” he was quoted as saying by El Pais.

“There have been clubs abroad who are interested and they have made their bids, but the player prefers to remain at Valencia.

“In any case, it will be up to the president [Manuel Llorente] and the council to decide whether or not he leaves and determine what transfer fee is satisfactory.”

Gomez also dismissed reports that winger David Silva had become indispensable to the club, when he indicated that “no one is transferable or intransferable” and admitted that the board will “listen to all offers that are made”.
