Sealy Signs With Tel Aviv; Gets Assist In Debut

Trinidad & Tobago forward Scott Sealy has signed with Maccabi Tel Aviv and got an assist in his debut.

Former San Jose Earthquakes forward and Trinidad & Tobago native Scott Sealy recently signed with Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel, due to the teams lack of options upfront.

The 27-year-old Sealy had a productive career in the MLS, first with the Kansas City Wizards from 2005-2008. During that time he made 96 appearances for the club, scoring 30 goals.

In July of last year, he was traded to San Jose for an undisclosed amount of allocation money, but never really settled into the club, making 14 appearances the rest of the season, scoring just two goals.

Deciding to explore options abroad, Sealy signed with Tel Aviv and debuted for them in their match against Maccabi Haifi, a match that ended 1-1. He assisted on Tel Aviv’s goal, a game-tying tally by Maor Buzaglo in the 83rd minute.

Sealy, a Wake Forest graduate, is also a member of Trinidad & Tobago’s national team, having made 24 appearances for the Soca Warriors since 2004. He’s scored two international goals in those appearances.
