Player Ratings: Celtic 2-0 Hapoel Tel Aviv
Celtic back on form in comfortable victory.
By Andrew Southwick
Lukasz Zaluska - 7 - Kept his place despite Artur Boruc being fit so the pressure was on. Clean sheet coupled with a few decent saves, no reason why he should not continue in goal against Aberdeen.
Andreas Hinkel - 6.5 - Was busier in the second half than in the first, but a solid showing from the German.
Gary Caldwell - 6.5 - So much being expected of the Scotland international just now because of his wage demands and contract dispute. It has put added pressure on him, so clean sheet will be very welcome.
Danny Fox - 6.5 - Tried to get forward and may even have scored at one point.
Glenn Loovens - 6 - Did what he had to do, blocked one dangerous effort early in second half.
Landry N'Guemo - 6.5 - Put in some good, solid challenges and tried to get forward. Jury is still out on him but this was a decent enough performance.
Mark Crosas - 6 - Quiet night from the Spaniard as visitors were content to pass the ball about without getting forward too often. Not on ball as often as he would have liked.
Barry Robson - 8 - Became the first Scottish player to score against Israeli opposition with a wonderful free-kick. At times tonight looked like the player who was romping to the player of the year award when at Dundee United. Good news for Celtic and Scotland.
Aiden McGeady - 7.5 - Early on was the main driving force for Celtic. Not as creative in the second half and eventually substituted, but showed signs of heading back to his best.
Scott McDonald - 6 - With McGeady pulling the strings in the first half, he was given opportunities that he should have done better with. Will have been disappointed with his performance when in sight of goal, because outside of the box he looked good.
Giorgos Samaras - 6.5 - Good first goal, linked up with well McGeady and McDonald.
Substitutes
Marc-Antoine Fortune - 6 - Celtic support haven't taken to him, but he tried his best to get a third. Like McDonald, let himself down when the opportunties came.
Lee Naylor - 6 - Given 15 minutes at the end, almost made an impact up front by getting involved in the attacks.
Vincent Enyeama - 7 - Made a few mistakes, but constantly redeemed himself with some good saves on a busy night.
Douglas Da Silva - 5.5 - Almost scored an own goal at one point with some nervy defending.
Dani Bondarv - 5 - Just not his night. Lost 50-50 challenges, was caught in possession, and was tormented at times by McGeady. He's a better player than this showing.
Ben Dayan - 6 - Was simply second best to a good Celtic performance.
Natcho Bebars - 6 - Had opportunity with free-kick but instead Hapoel ended up being caught on the counter attack.
Walid Badir - 5.5 - The captain gave away the free-kick that led to one of the goals on a miserable night.
Gil Vermoth - 6 - Put in a few decent crosses and kept Celtic's defence on their toes.
Zurab Menteshashvili - 5.5 - Replaced at half-time, had been average at best up until that point.
Itay Shechter- 7 - Had a very good first half despite a lack of service from midfield. Looked dangerous throughout.
Samuel Yeboah - 5.5 - Had been picked out as a possible dangerman but never really showed it.
Avihai Yadin - 5.5 - Booked in the second half, then subbed. Didn't produce his best performance.
Substitutes
Maaran Lala - 6.5 - Came on at half-time and helped spur the visitors into some action. Went close late on with a glancing header that went just wide.
Nemanja Vucicevic - 6.5 - Also came on at half-time and helped turn the tide the way of Hapoel for a while. Perhaps unlucky not to have started.
Eran Zahavy - 6 - Only given the last ten minutes.
