Roma managed to record a fortunate 1-1 draw against Fulham at Craven Cottage earlier tonight, after scoring with the final kick of the match through the most unlikely of sources in Marco Andreolli.

Moments after scoring his first ever goal for the Romans, Andreolli stressed the significance of his strike and of the result on the night.

“It was so important that we didn’t lose here tonight, and this was something that we were never going to do,” Anderolli stressed in an interview with Mediaset.

“We lifted in the second half and therefore deserved a draw. We missed a penalty, so in my opinion, this goal of mine is a gift to all of the effort we put in.”

As expected, the former Inter defender was in an extremely buoyant mood after the match had completed, so he provided a brief insight into his experience with the club.

He continued, “I came here two years ago, and I have missed a lot of matches because of injuries. My time with this club did not start off in the best possible way.

“Now I’m back with the desire to grow and improve though, but I understand that [the coach Claudio] Ranieri has to play the champions ahead of me.”

Andreolli will be hoping to excel, if given the opportunity, in the league this weekend, when I Lupi play host to the bottom placed Livorno at the Stadio Olimpico.
