The Dutch veteran could be added to the Rossoneri’s growing list of casualties after injuring himself earlier tonight.Milan were stunned at the San Siro stadium tonight, as they somehow surrendered a two goal lead over Werder Bremen, to eventually draw 2-2 on the night, meaning that the German outfit will progress to the next phase of the UEFA Cup on away goals.
The Rossoneri have only themselves to blame though, as once again they severely suffered in the latter stages of the second half, as Claudio Pizarro grabbed both goals for the visitors in the final 25 minutes of play.
To make matters worse for the Italian giants, Clarence Seedorf picked up an injury in the match, which is likely to keep him on the sidelines for a few weeks.
The Dutchman was involved in a heavy collision early in the second half, and was forced to withdraw as a result, after just 54 minutes of play.
He injured his right ankle in the challenge, and the extent of the injury will be known in the morning, when further investigations and scans will be carried out to determine exactly what is wrong.
Milan are already without a whole host of stars through injury, including Kaka, Gennaro Gattuso, Alessandro Nesta and Marco Borriello, so Seedorf’s latest injury is certainly not going to help their cause.
They are set to face Sampdoria in the league this weekend at the Luigi Ferraris stadium, with the play set to get underway at 15:00 CET.
