World Cup 2010: Jorge Fucile - Germany Beat Uruguay 'Without Merit'
Saturday's game has left the full-back with a bitter taste in his mouth.

Uruguay defender Jorge Fucile has tried to place into perspective the impressive run the Celeste have made this summer at the World Cup, despite Saturday’s heartbreaking 3-2 defeat against Germany in Nelson Mandela Bay.
The South Americans were not considered a side likely to best the round of 16 if they escaped Group A at all, but they plowed their way impressively to the final weekend of the competition.
“The outcome is bitter,” the defender explained to the assembled press. “We played a great game and deserved a better fate.
“From my point of view, we played the best team of the tournament, Germany. We were almost perfect, but they took advantage of good scoring chances that they were presented with and just beat us in that aspect. They won, but without merit.
“We know it is very important that we got fourth place, despite the bitterness of today, because in the end we got Uruguay to the place it deserves. On Monday we will share our success with all [Uruguayan] people, since they are also part of this conquest of Uruguayan football.”
Fucile played five times for the Celeste in South Africa.
