Argentina superstar Lionel Messi has said that he will do everything in his power to defeat Germany in the World Cup quarter-finals on Saturday to bring back the smile on Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher's face.
England were knocked out of the second round in South Africa by Germany and Messi has now expressed a desire to do his best to defeat the Germans for the sake of his favorite band Oasis.
"If they (Oasis) love England as much as they do Manchester City, you can tell them from me I will do everything I can to defeat the team who knocked their beloved England out of the Cup," Messi said, according to the British tabloid The Sun.
"Maybe we can all watch a game at Manchester City," the 23-year-old Barcelona forward added.
The Ballon d'Or winner has been reportedly listening to Oasis songs on his iPod before going out to matches in the World Cup. At the moment Messi is suffering from fever and missed Thursday's training session, but is expected to recover for Saturday's clash with Germany.
