Sven happy with the draw.Following his side’s 0-0 draw with Portugal in their World Cup Group G opener this afternoon, Ivory Coast coach Sven Goran Eriksson admitted he was content with the single point his team take into their next match with Brazil on Sunday.
“Portugal are a good team so one point is ok,” the Swede told ITV.
“We’re not completely happy but they’re a good team and it was a good game technically.”
In a cagey affair, the closest any team came to breaking the deadlock was a ferocious 30-yard drive from Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo that struck the post, and Eriksson admitted that both teams were probably happy to have avoided defeat.
“No one wants to lose a game like this. They had a good chance in the first half when Ronaldo hit the post.”
