thumbnail Hello,

The captain was at a loss to explain why they couldn't win.

France were unable to unlock Uruguay's backline as they sputtered to a scoreless draw  in Cape Town on Friday evening.

Les Bleus had the better share of possession over the 90 minutes and also created some good chances but could not find the back of the net even when Uruguay's Nicolas Lodeiro was sent off with under 10 minutes to play.

France captain Patrice Evra failed to decipher the exact reason why the former world champions couldn't bag maximum points from this fixture.

He has been quoted by L'Equipe as saying,"Frankly, I don't see what the problem was. We played really well. I don't know how they could take it (a draw)."

The afternoon game in Group A between South Africa and Mexico ended in a 1-1 draw, which means that all the four teams in the group have a point each after the first round of matches.
