A triumphant Charlie Davies couldn't hold back the good news, posting on his Twitter page that his recovery from a car accident last year is nearing the final stages.
"It's official! I'm done with rehab!!! Leaving for Sochaux tomorrow! Who said I couldn't be back training so soon!? Let's go!! God Bless!!"
Davies was doing well with the Ligue 1 squad before his injuries, and the French club is expected to evaluate and increase his fitness, perhaps using him as a late sub in games as his strength increases.
Though Davies is still a long shot to make the USA squad for the World Cup, he has already exceeded expectations in his comeback campaign.
The forward was having a banner year before the accident, scoring crucial goals in World Cup qualifying and the Confederations Cup for the USA.
