thumbnail Hello,

The right back had been one of the team's most consistent contributors but was replaced by DeAndre Yedlin after sustaining an injury.

United States right back Fabian Johnson left the USA's round of 16 match against Belgium in the 32nd minute because of a strained left hamstring.

Johnson had been one of the best Americans in the World Cup while playing the right back spot but appearaed to overextend his leg while pushing forward prior to the substitution. He was replaced by Seattle Sounders right back DeAndre Yedlin, with the 20-year-old winning his seventh cap.

The match was scoreless when Johnson was forced to make way and at the end of 90 minutes, but extra time saw the Belgians break through with two goals. The Americans responded through substitute Julian Green but failed to add a second, meaning Belgium will move on to the quarterfinal against Argentina.
