Felipao has been travelling around the continent casting an eye on those in contention for a place in his final Brazil squad for this year's World Cup.Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has says his scouting trip to Europe has been time well spent as he prepares to finalize his World Cup squad.
Felipao, his assistant Murtosa, and technical director Carlos Alberto Parreira took in Paris Saint-Germain’s clash with Chelsea last week before waching Barcelona’s draw with Atletico Madrid as they ran the rule over a number of those in contention for the final 23-man squad.
The trio then headed to England to watch a host of Brazil internationals in Premier League action and Scolari has been pleased with the trip so far.
“Our stay in Europe has been very fruitful,” he told the CBF website. “I have told the players to remain calm because whether they are playing for their clubs or not, they have my trust.”
Scolari, Murtosa and Parreira all saw Chelsea’s victory over Stoke City on Saturday, and on Sunday Parreira cast an eye on Lucas Leiva and Philippe Coutinho in Liverpool’s victory over West Ham.
Scolari and Murtosa headed to Lisbon for a coaching conference and will watch Benfica’s clash with Rio Ave after before reuniting with Parreira to end their European tour in Munich on Wednesday for the Champions League quarterfinal between Bayern and Manchester United.
"Everyone has welcomed us and it's always good to have a good relationship with professional colleagues," said Parreira of the hospitality extended to them by club coaches they’ve met on their travels.
Scolari will announce his World Cup squad May 7.
