The Honduran striker joins Belgrano for a yearlong loan after scoring just four goals in two years as a designated player.
The 27-year-old Honduran striker has been sent to Argentine side Belgrano on a yearlong loan, the Revolution announced Friday.
Signed as a designated player in July 2012, Bengtson has scored just four goals in 36 appearances (23 starts) for New England. He had one goal in seven matches (one start) this season as he struggled for minutes behind the likes of Patrick Mullins and Teal Bunbury.
Despite those struggles, Bengtson has continued as a regular starter for the Honduras national team, scoring three goals in four matches at the 2012 Olympics, finding net nine times in 2014 World Cup qualifying and starting three games at the finals in Brazil.
