Aron Johannsson returned from a brief injury layoff to score in AZ's 1-1 draw with FC Utrecht on Saturday.
The 23-year-old U.S. national team striker missed one game with an injury sustained two weeks ago, but returned to the lineup and like he's done so many times this season, made a big impact for his club.
In the 22nd minute, Roy Beerens beat his man down the left side before lifting a short cross for Johannsson to head home from close range. Utrecht’s Jens Toornstra scored a fantastic free kick to make the score 1-1 in the 56th minute.
The goal was Johannsson's 14th in league play this season and 22nd across all competitions, as the striker continues to impress in his first full season with the Dutch club.
Johannsson played the full match while fellow American Juan Agudelo started and played 74 minutes for Utrecht before being subbed out for Danny Koevermans, formerly of Toronto FC.
