The American forward will go on loan before Stoke City makes another attempt to get the 21-year-old a work permit to join the club.New England Revolution and American forward Juan Agudelo is heading to Europe after signing with Stoke City, the player tweeted Tuesday.
Agudelo made his USA national team debut in 2010 when he was just 17. He scored in his debut, a 1-0 win against South Africa, and became the youngest player to tally in the Stars and Stripes. His playing time with the national team has been sporadic since then, with a shortage of national team caps hindering his work permit eligibility.
That's not to say Agudelo hasn't shown some of the talent he displayed when he was originally called up. He scored seven goals in 14 appearances with the New England Revolution during the 2013 MLS season, including a sublime back heel against the Chicago Fire that was a MLS Goal of the Year finalist.
