Dynamo left back Corey Ashe called up for USA friendly versus Belgium

The diminutive left back is in his seventh season in MLS, all of which have been spent with the Dynamo
Houston Dynamo left back Corey Ashe has been handed his first-ever U.S. national team call-up, as he was summoned to Jurgen Klinsmann's squad for their friendly against Belgium.

The 27-year-old will only be with the team for the Belgium match, and will be back with the Dynamo in time for the team's June 1 match at Columbus.

With Edgar Castillo participating in the Copa Libertadores and Fabian Johnson in a promotion/relegation playoff, the USA will be short at left back for the Belgium match, which prompted Ashe's call-up.

The U.S. will take on a very strong Belgium squad on May 29 at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland. Kickoff is at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
