thumbnail Hello,

Fabian Johnson sat out TSG 1899 Hoffenheim's Bundesliga game against Greuther Furth with what Hoffenheim's official site described as a hip injury.

Hoffenheim snapped a four-game losing skid by trouncing Greuther Furth 3-0 on Saturday, but it did so without the help of American international Fabian Johnson, who sat out the match with a hip injury, according to the club's official website.

No timetable for a return from the hip injury was given.

Johnson joins a growing list of injury concerns for U.S. national team boss Jurgen Klinsmann ahead of a pair of World Cup qualifiers in March. The United States will already be without Tim Howard (back), Steve Cherundolo (knee) and Landon Donovan (hiatus). The statuses of Clint Dempsey (calf) and Edgar Castillo (broken facial bones) are questionable.

Should Johnson and Castillo not recover in time, Klinsmann will be without his two first-choice options at left back against Costa Rica (March 22) and Mexico (March 26).

As for Hoffenheim, the victory brought the club three points closer to 16th place and the relegation playoff spot in the Bundesliga, but it still sits only ahead of Furth planted in the relegation zone, with 19 points from 25 matches.
