Alejandro Bedoya marked his return to Helsingborg with a goal in the club's Svenska Cupen stalemate with Assyriska.Alejandro Bedoya began his second stint with Helsingborg much in the way he kicked off his first one.
Bedoya, who recently signed on for a second short-term contract with the top-flight Swedish club, scored the opening goal of Helsingborg's 1-1 draw with second-tier side Assyriska in the opening game of the Svenska Cupen group stage on Sunday.
On Bedoya's debut with Helsingborg last August, he tallied on a bicycle kick to spark a four-goal campaign that culminated with him being called into Jurgen Klinsmann's January U.S. national team training camp.
Bedoya replicated his goal-scoring form by getting on the board in the 41st minute, but Helsingborg had to settle for the draw after Phillipp Hellquist netted an equalizer in the 66th minute. Helsingborg has two more cup matches over the next two weeks before kicking off the Allsvenskan league season on March 31 by hosting Djurgarden.
