The tournament, which runs Feb. 18 to March 3, will determine the four CONCACAF teams that will advance to this summer's FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey.
“We are excited and looking forward to the World Cup qualification process with this group of players,” Ramos said. “This is a cohesive, talented and professional roster."
The team opens the tournament against Haiti on Feb. 18, and then faces Costa Rica on Feb. 22. First and second place in the three-team group advance to the quarterfinals, where the winners move onto this summer's competition. The USA will be shooting to erase memories from the team that failed to qualify for the 2011 U-20 World Cup after falling to qualifying-tournament-host Guatemala in the quarterfinals.
Stuttgart forward Jerome Kiesewetter and Colorado Rapids Homegrown Player and midfielder Dillon Serna were late additions to the roster after Ramos made his initial announcement. Liverpool midfielder Marc Pelosi was not made available for the qualifying tournament by his club after being included on the Reds' UEFA Europa League roster.
