The North American nations will go head-to-head at Houston's BBVA Compass Stadium in a pre-World Cup qualifying friendly for the Americans.

The U.S. men's national team will face North American foe Canada on Jan. 29 friendly at Houston's BBVA Compass Stadium, U.S. Soccer and the Canadian Soccer Association announced on Monday.

The match will take place at the culmination of the USA's January training camp, the details of which have not officially been announced by U.S. Soccer and coach Jurgen Klinsmann as of yet. According to the CSA, the Americans' camp will run from Jan. 19-30 in the build-up to the opening game of the CONCACAF hexagonal, which takes place Feb. 6 in Honduras.

"The match against Canada will come at the end of an important training camp as we get players ready for the World Cup qualifier against Honduras, and also get a good look at some up and coming players in the national team pool," Klinsmann said in a statement.

The USA and Canada have met in each of the last two years, with the USA winning a CONCACAF Gold Cup bout in 2011 by a 2-0 scoreline and the two playing to a 0-0 draw in Toronto this past June.

For Canada, the match will mark its second friendly in four days, with the team facing Denmark in Tucson, Ariz., on Jan. 26.

For the USA, it will be the only friendly next month prior to the qualifier against Honduras and will kick off the federation's year-long, 100th anniversary celebration.

"Obviously we have a great history with Canada, and they were unlucky not to qualify for the final round (of World Cup qualifying)," Klinsmann said. "The stadium in Houston is awesome, and the fans have been incredibly supportive there, so for us it's a great way to start off the centennial year of U.S. Soccer."
