American forward Terrence Boyd stayed in top form for Rapid Vienna, scoring a game-winning goal in his club's 2-1 victory over Wacker Innsbruck on Sunday.
Boyd, who torched Wacker Innsbruck for a brace in the season-opening game for both teams, netted in the 51st minute, seven minutes after teammate Deni Alar had pulled Rapid Vienna level after a 43rd-minute own goal. He ran onto a looped ball over the back line and connected for a sliding volley from the center of the box to deliver the game-deciding strike.
Boyd, 21, now has 13 goals in all competitions in his first season playing top-flight soccer. He has scored in four of his last five games, only failing to score in Thursday's UEFA Europa League bout, a game which he entered as a 76th-minute substitute.
With the win, Rapid Vienna is level with second-place Salzburg on 38 points but trails on goal differential by three. The top two teams in the Austrian Bundesliga secure berths to the UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds.
