The USA midfielder remained on form with his first league goal of the season for the Belgian champion in the team's rout of Club Brugge on Sunday.
On the heels of delivering a game-winning assist against Zenit St. Petersburg in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, Kljestan scored his first league goal of the season for Anderlecht, tallying the club's fourth goal in a 6-1 rout of Club Brugge on Sunday. Kljestan, who was a part of the U.S. team that finished off the most recent round of CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers, is a prime candidate to be a part of the team that goes to Krasnodar to face Russia on Nov. 14 given his maintained run of form.
Kljestan, who started and played all 90 minutes, scored his second goal in all competitions this season and netted for the first time since doing so in a Champions League qualifying match on Aug. 8. With the win on Sunday, Anderlecht reclaimed first place in Belgium's top flight, leapfrogging Zulte-Waregem to take a two-point advantage atop the league table.
