Fabian Johnson makes return from illness for Hoffenheim

The U.S. international had missed crucial World Cup qualifiers through illness, but recovered enough to play for his club in a 3-3 draw.
United States national team fullback Fabian Johnson made his return from illness for Hoffenheim on Friday, playing 90 minutes for the Bundesliga side.

The 24-year-old had missed World Cup qualifiers against Antigua & Barbuda and Guatemala with a case of flu, but recovered to start for Hoffenheim against Greuther Furth.

The game ended in a wild-ending 3-3 draw. Edgar Prib scored an 84th minute equalizer before Joselu scored his second goal of the game in the 89th minute. Prib closed out a thriller by setting up Lasse Sobiech in stoppage time.
