The U.S. national team's all-time leading scorer skipped a training session, but he may be cleared to play against Antigua & Barbuda.
"We're very, very positive on Landon," head coach Jurgen Klinsmann told reporters. "Just to be 1,000 percent sure, he's doing an MRI. He was supposed to do that actually in L.A. (Monday) morning, but he skipped it, because he felt so good."
Donovan picked up the knock in the Los Angeles Galaxy's 2-1 loss to Real Salt Lake on Saturday in a collision with Jamison Olave. He had to be substituted, saying at the time that "It didn’t feel good," but the forward appears to have avoided a serious injury, healing enough to be included on Klinsmann's 24-man roster for the two World Cup qualifiers in the next week.
