Michael Bradley scored his first goal for new club AS Roma, with the tidy low strike coming in Boston's Fenway Park.
Bradley ran onto a ball from Erik Lamela and slotted it between the legs of Daniel Agger and past Liverpool keeper Brad Jones.
"I think he played a good game," Roma coach Zdenek Zeman said through a translator. "He is good player and he works hard. His tempo is very high."
The 24-year-old midfielder was bought from fellow Serie A club Chievo Verona in early July for $4.5 million. On the field, Bradley seemed to fit in well with his new teammates, and he featured for a full 90 minutes in central midfield.
"He’s a fighter," fellow goalscorer Alessandro Florenzi said. "He puts his best effort (out there on the field) and everything he does is very skilled."
Roma will now travel to New York where the team will play a friendly against the El Salvadorian national team at Red Bull Arena.
