By Zac Lee Rigg
Running unopposed, current U.S. Soccer President Sunil Gulati was re-elected for another four years. Heading U.S. Soccer since 2006, Gulati's current term will now expire in 2014.
“I am honored to continue to serve our U.S. Soccer as President,” said Gulati. “We’ve seen significant growth of soccer in the United States in the past 25 years and we have the opportunity to continue that progress. I look forward to that process.”
Since his work for U.S. Soccer is unpaid, Gulati also serves as the President of Kraft Soccer Properties and teaches economics at Columbia University. Previously, Gulati occupied the role of Major League Soccer's Deputy Commissioner and U.S. Soccer's Executive Vice President.
