Adu "Close" To Deal With Aris
The Greek club is looking to bring in their second American in a week.
Freddy Adu is apparently close to signing a deal with Aris, the same Greek club that signed Eddie Johnson earlier in the week.
According to Goal.com Greece's Michael Paterakis, Adu, who was released from his loan deal with Beleneses in Portugal, will have to wait until a non-European spot opens up on Aris' roster, which should happen when the club releases Argentine midfielder Leandro Gracian, but that the club is "very close to Adu."
Aris is one of two big clubs in Thessalonica along with PAOK and have routinely been a top-half side in the Greek Super League over the last four years. The club is on pace to continue their fine run again in 2010.
