Solano: Prem Or Galaxy?

As Peru winger Nolberto Solano considers a possible move to MLS with Los Angeles Galaxy, he has reiterated his belief that he is still good enough to play in the English Premier League - which would be his first preference.

Nolberto Solano - West Ham United

Nolberto Solano, released by West Ham United in June, but back training with the Hammers to maintain his fitness, could move to Los Angeles Galaxy within the next week.

Peru international Solano, 33, nevertheless remains hopeful that he can win a contract at a Premier League club before the new season gets underway on 16th August.

Outlining his ambitions to Sky Sports News, Solano said: "My first thing is to try and stay in the Premier League.

"I still believe I can play one more year.

"But I have to wait. You have to think of the family and what is good for them."

Meanwhile, though, Solano has held talks with his former Newcastle United boss, Ruud Gullit, and could yet take up an offer from the Dutchman, now LA Galaxy manager, within the next seven days.

"I spoke to him [Gullit] a couple of weeks ago and he is very interesting," said Solano.

"I am happy that he tried to get me to move over there and give me another opportunity to play at a good level of football.

"We will see. This week will be crucial for me."
