Matt Van Oekel, Minnesota United FC – Earned his third victory and second shutout of the season for United
Ivan Guerrero, Fort Lauderdale Strikers – Honduran had two assists for the Strikers
Julius James, San Antonio Scorpions – Trinidad & Tobago native was solid on Scorpions backline
Erick Norales, Indy Eleven – Honduran scored for a second consecutive week from his defensive position
Philippe Davies, Ottawa Fury FC – Had a goal and an assist in the Fury FC’s first NASL victory
Blair Gavin, Atlanta Silverbacks – Dished out two assists and was key factor in the midfield
Junior Sandoval, Atlanta Silverbacks – Honduran had the first tally for the Silverbacks’ second consecutive game
Kevin Venegas, Minnesota United FC – Pushed forward on the attack and defended well for United
Danny Barrera, San Antonio Scorpions – Colombian helped create the winning tally for the Scorpions
Marius Ebbers, Fort Lauderdale Strikers – German’s first NASL goal becomes the game-winner against Indy Eleven

U.S. Soccer To Broadcast 'Game Of The Round' During 2014 Open Cup
U.S. Soccer announced it will broadcast one match during each round of the 2014 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The "Game of the Round" will provide fans with the chance to watch a pre-selected match on ussoccer.com during the 101st edition of the tournament, which includes a record 80 teams.
The "Game of the Round" kicks off on May 7 with a Massachusetts matchup between amateur sides Mass Premier Soccer (U.S. Adult Soccer Association regional qualifier) and Western Mass. Pioneers (Premier Development League) at Lusitano Stadium in Ludlow, Massachusetts. In the second round, ussoccer.com will air a Richmond, Virginia, derby when the Richmond Kickers (USL PRO) take on RVA FC (National Premier Soccer League) at Sports Backers Stadium. The matches for following rounds and the specific "Game of the Round" live stream will be announced at a later date.
The eight U.S. based clubs of the North American Soccer League will enter the U.S Open Cup in the Third Round, which will kickoff May 28 and feature the 24 Second Round winners. Each NASL team will be matched geographically to play the winner of a specific Second Round pairing. The winners of the 16 remaining Second Round matches not paired with a NASL clubs will play each other.
Fourth and Fifth Round games will be played in June during the NASL break for the FIFA World Cup and the final will be played September 30-October 1.
Played annually since 1914, The Cup is the oldest cup competition in the country and is a single elimination tournament open to all affiliated amateur and professional teams in the United States. The winner of the U.S. Open Cup qualifies as one of the four United States teams for the CONCACAF Champions League.
In only two years of participation, the NASL teams have outscored their opposition 51 to 38 in 28 total games and for two consecutive tournaments. NASL clubs posted an overall 7-6 record in last year’s competition with the Carolina RailHawks and Tampa Bay Rowdies making it to the fourth rounds and the RailHawks to the Quarterfinals where they fell to finalist Real Salt Lake.
