With the group stages now at a close, Goal.com readers have overwhelmingly voted that the United States will win the CONCACAF Gold Cup. The Americans, fielding a B team, qualified for the knockout stages by taking first place in Group B.
A 4-0 demolition of Grenada in the first game helped set the tone for a strong cup, although results since then haven't been nearly as strong. Still, two wins and a draw in three games was enough to see the U.S. collect nearly 70% of the votes.
Coming in a distant second was Mexico, with roughly 28% of the vote. El Tri topped Group C with a 2-0 win over Guadeloupe on the final day of the group stages and advance to play Haiti in th quarterfinals. The U.S. will play Panama.
Costa Rica, with 3% of the vote, takes on Guadeloupe, while El Salvador, 0%, didn't qualify out of the group stages.
