Argentina unchanged for Copa America quarterfinal with Uruguay

Sergio Batista has stuck with the winning formula, which proved so successful in helping the host nation despatch the Costa Ricans in their final game of the group stage
Argentina coach Sergio Batista has delivered on his pledge to name an unchanged starting XI for his side's crunch Copa America quarterfinal clash with Uruguay.

Batista was forced into making four changes for Argentina's final group-stage clash with Costa Rica, which it had to win. The alterations paid off as Sergio Aguero scored a brace and Angel Di Maria added a third to book a last-eight berth.

The host nation, therefore, continues with its 4-3-3 system, which sees Di Maria taking up a role in the midfield trio alongside Fernando Gago and Javier Mascherano, while Lionel Messi spearheads a powerful attack also boasting Aguero and Gonzalo Higuain.

Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez names a strong side and makes two changes from the narrow 1-0 win over Mexico. Sebastian Coates (suspended) and Cristian Rodriguez make way for Mauricio Victorino and Martin Caceres.
