VIDEO: Landon Donovan Speaks On Galaxy Playoff Position

The captain of the Los Angles club is pleased that his side have clinched home field advantage in the MLS playoffs.

CARSON, Calif. -- It was mission accomplished for Landon Donovan and the Los Angeles Galaxy after their win over the San Jose Earthquakes clinched the top seed in the Western Conference for the playoffs.

It was Donovan who created the opening goal, when his cross off a Quake defender deflected into the net.

Donovan followed that efffort with another goal in the second half. He scored when the Galaxy broke forward on a counterattack.

After the match, Donovan spoke with reporters about how the Galaxy turned their season around, and how good it felt to finally return to the post-season to contend for a title.
