Matuidi signed for PSG from Saint-Etienne last summer and has made 39 appearances for the Ligue 1 leader.
And his agent is not the only one who has been delighted with the way the 25-year-old has performed so far for les Parisiens.
"He has exploded this year; he came to Paris for that. He is the best French player right now,” Bernes told Le Parisien.
His coach at PSG, Carlo Ancelotti, was also full of praise for his young midfielder, particularly for his impressive performances in the Champions League.
Ancelotti said: "I have no words for Matuidi; He is one of the best places in Europe. Against Valencia he was fantastic but it wasn’t just against Valencia, he is like that all the time.”
The France boss, Didier Deschamps, has also commented on Matuidi’s performances but is worried that he may pick up an injury if he is overused.
"His performance against Valencia does not surprise me. But I am a little worried to see him play ninety minutes every four days. There was a moment when I saw him on the ground and I had some chills.”
