Portugal coach Paulo Bento has received some positive news from the treatment table ahead of his team's Euro 2012 opener against Germany on June 9 as attacker Nani is expected to be match fit in time to feature in the Group B encounter.
The Manchester United star picked up a foot injury in Portugal's 3-1 friendly loss against Turkey, and Portugal had initially feared that the winger would face a spell on the sidelines.
However, team doctor Henrique Jones believes that the 25-year-old will be ready in time for the match against Germany.
"Nani had a traumatic situation in his [right] foot, the same foot that he had problems with at Manchester United during the season," Jones said to Portugoal.net. "But I think it’s nothing serious and I think he’ll recover for the first match."
Portugal meets Denmark on June 13 in its second group game, before locking horns with the Netherlands on June 17.
